License policy
The rule is simple: personal noncommercial use of core generation 1 is free; commercial and organizational use requires a deployment license after the evaluation period.
Personal and noncommercial use
A natural person may use lil-terminal core generation 1 free of charge for personal, educational, hobby and other noncommercial projects. The work must not be performed for an organization, a paying client or a revenue-generating operation.
Commercial and organizational use
A commercial license is required when lil-terminal is used by a company, nonprofit, public body, agency, hosting provider, employee, contractor or freelancer in paid work, internal business operations or a client project.
What counts as one deployment
One deployment is one active production installation serving one website, project or hosting account. Development and staging copies dedicated to that same licensed project are included. Separate client or production projects require separate licenses.
Agencies and client work
An agency or freelancer needs one license for each client production project on which lil-terminal is used or remains installed after the evaluation period. The client may take over that license when responsibility for the project is transferred.
Perpetual generation 1 license
The commercial license is a one-time purchase for core generation 1 and includes maintenance releases within that generation. A future incompatible core generation may have separate terms.
No account, DRM or phone-home requirement
The license is contractual rather than enforced by a remote lock. lil-terminal does not send terminal commands, project files or license checks to a licensing server.
The published license defines the permitted use of lil-terminal; invoices and order confirmations record commercial details without expanding or reducing those rights.
